Worthy Trax - Tom Petty

"Here Comes My Girl"
You know, sometimes, I don't know why,
But this old town just seems so hopeless
I ain't really sure, but it seems I remember the good times
Were just a little bit more in focus

But when she puts her arms around me,
I can, somehow, rise above it
Yeah man, when I got that little girl standing right by my side,
You know, I can tell the whole wide world, and shout it,

[Chorus:]
Hey, here comes my girl, here comes my girl,
Yeah, she looks so right, she's all I need tonight

Every now and then, I get down to the end of a day,
I'll have to stop, ask myself, "What've I done?"
It just seems so useless to have to work so hard,
And nothin' ever really seem to come from it

And then she looks me in the eye, says, "We gonna last forever,"
And man, you know I can't begin to doubt it
No, because this feels so good and so free and so right,
I know we ain't never goin' change our minds about it

[Chorus]

Yeah, everytime it seems like there ain't nothin' left no more,
I find myself havin' to reach out and grab hold of somethin'
Yeah, I just catch myself wanderin', waitin', worryin'
About some silly little things that don't add up to nothin'

And then she looks me in the eye, says, "We gonna last forever,"
And man, you know I can't begin to doubt it
No, because this feels so good and so free and so right,
I know we ain't never goin' change our minds about it

20 and 0

What Steph Curry (and the entire Warriors team) are doing this year is nothing short of perfect basketball.  Even for a guy who laid $40 on the Spurs to win it all,  I can't help but tip my hat and say "thank you" to the Warriors.  It's like I never knew basketball could re-invent itself in such a beautiful way.

Great article summing up where we are at with Steph: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/stephen-curry-scores-28-of-his-40-in-3rd-quarter-as-warriors-beat-hornets--hit-20-0-044534483.html

NBA All-time Starting 5

Great take today from Colin Cowherd on Lebron.
http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=12962241

His all-time starting 5:
Magic PG
MJ – SG
Lebron – SF
Bird or Duncan – PF
Kareem – C

Really like that starting 5.

But an obvious cheat, not taking one PF (you Can't have Bird AND Duncan!).

So while I otherwise agree with this starting 5, I WILL choose.  And I’ll take Duncan.  I want his durability.  He could also really be considered in the conversation as the greatest TEAMMATE ever.  How could you not take him on that aspect alone?  But I didn’t get to experience Bird.  Sad but true.  So I might be biased but I’m going with what I know

And the best ever is still not up for debate:  Jordan …and I don’t believe I’ll ever see anyone better in my lifetime.

Lebron might be a better athlete.  But basketball is a very mental sport. And Jordan was a cold –blooded killer.  He just NEVER lost once he reached the plateau.  Lebron has now made 5 straight finals (6 total).  He has 2 rings (3 if he wins this year).  Twice Lebron won only 1 game in the Finals.
Jordan made 6 Finals and won 6 rings.

Simplify

Great list:
http://zenhabits.net/simple-living-manifesto-72-ideas-to-simplify-your-life/

one I really like:
Learn what “enough” is. Our materialistic society today is about getting more and more, with no end in sight. Sure, you can get the latest gadget, and more clothes and shoes. More stuff. But when will you have enough? Most people don’t know, and thus they keep buying more. It’s a neverending cycle. Get off the cycle by figuring out how much is enough. And then stop when you get there.

Inviticus

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley (1849–1903).
