Our Drummer

About 3 years ago Jack took a drumming class.  no big deal, just another activity to occupy his free time during the summer.  He took to it a bit so we got him a cheap toys-r-us drum set (that sounded horrible).  He cranked away and started taking private lessons.  Then one day he asked for a "real" drum set.  Of course my first reaction was "Oh boy, here we go, I'm going to spend a fortune and he will give it up after a few months or just never play much."  So we bought him a pretty cool starter set for Xmas.  He kept with the lessons but it wasn't much.  I felt frustrated many times, thinking he wasn't really working at it.  But then, and I wish I could recall exactly when it was (I do think it had everything to do with him discovering his beloved favorite band Twenty One Pilots), he started going at it regularly.  He started to get pretty good!  The better he got, the more he wanted to practice.

And now he's flat-out good.  He's a legitimate drummer.

And his Dad could not possibly be more proud of him. :-)
